EDUCATION: 1979, graduate of the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Foreign Languages with a degree in English and French

- at present, doctoral student at the same University. The topic of my doctoral thesis is “Ergativity in English, Romanian and French.

- since November 2002, following the exam organized by the European Commission in Romania I have been accredited as Auxiliary Conference Interpreted. My working languages are English and Romanian.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY: 1998 up to present: lecturer at the English Department of the Faculty of Foreign Languages - University of Bucharest

- 1990-1998: assistant lecturer then lecturer at the English Department of the Faculty of Foreign Languages - University of Bucharest.

I teach classes of Syntax and Morphology for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students of the Philology Department.

Our Faculty also has a specialized department that trains translators and interpreters. Within this department I teach classes of practical courses (written translations from and into Romanian and English), consecutive and simultaneous interpretation (3rd, 4th and MA students), ESP (mainly Business English and legal English).

- 1983-1990 - translator for a big manufacturing company in Bucharest.
- 1979-1983 - teacher of English in a secondary school.

- 1993: Warwick University, Great Britain, Teaching at tertiary level, under the auspices of the British Council

TRANSLATION ACTIVITY:
For seven years I worked as a technical translator for a heavy equipment manufacturing company. I translated technical documentation as well as business documents (contracts, business letters, tender offers, etc).
I have also translated various documents for legal firms and audit firms such as Coopers&Lybrand, the European Commission, the Phare Program (DIS Manual).


CONFERENCE INTERPRETING:
I have worked in a large number of conferences, many of which have been organised under the auspices of UNESCO, UNO, NATO, EEC, OSCE, Council of Europe, USAID, AIDA, MIDLAND INVESTMET CORPORATION, various medical associations.Here are some of them:
