Tumbling


The weeks are tumbling over one another
over and over like Chinese acrobats:
impossible handsprings, effortless,
tinsel dressed, bright with sequins
spangles and greasepaint and sweat
somersaulting so fast they are blurred
until you can’t see where one starts and
another finishes, tumbling out of the circus tent
on and on, up the dusty hillside road
off to the horizon.

Rostogolire
 

Saptamanile se rostogolesc una peste alta
iar si iar precum acrobatii la circ:
prize improbabile, line,
cu costumele lor poleite, brodate cu paiete
si fir de lame si cu parul sclipind de gel si de sudoare
executand triplu-salturi atat de rapide incat contururile li se estompeaza
pana cand nu mai poti distinge unde incepe un trup
si se termina celalalt, rostogolindu-se afara din cortul de circ
la nesfarsit, in sus pe drumul prafuit
dincolo de linia orizontului.
